Dedication to a sport or activity such as ballet is to be commended but in the persuate of excellence it can cause excessive strain on joints that can lead to hyper-mobility in the joints. One sided sports – carrying bags wth all the kit that children need for their sport and having to carry it all from place to place can put strain on the back especially if the bag is carried over one shoulder.
Injuries sustained can leave a lasting effect on the growing body, and compensating for loss of movement at a particular joint such as a sprained ankle can be a factor in causing long-term postural imbalances that may lead to back and neck problems throughout adult life.
